Description
The battle of Pointe du Hoc is one of the most heroic episodes of the Normandy landings.
It was the Second Ranger Battalion of the U.S. Army that climbed this 30-meter high promontory overlooking Omaha Beach.
Under a hail of enemy bullets and grenades, the Rangers managed to seize the strategic heights and silence a small battery of German long-range guns.
